• Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Responsible for the safe de‑escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety where carrying a firearm in the regular course of duty is required, or equivalent training and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre‑employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain all required training, including certifications in Firearms, Taser CEW, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
• Carry non‑lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
