Metro Power is seeking low voltage apprentices in the Jacksonville, FL area through our Employee-Owned Low Voltage Systems Division. We are seeking technicians who excel at communication, technical knowledge, and problem-solving to deliver the highest level of customer service. Positions are regular, full-time and benefits eligible. Pay range depends on experience, skills, and knowledge.
What You Will Do- Inspect work areas and complete Job Hazard Analysis prior to starting any work.
- Review and process work and plan ahead, coordinate equipment, supplies, tools, and manage schedule/scheduling impacts.
- Install equipment and cable while adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues to reach quick resolutions.
- Complete post-installation paperwork and coordinate with supervisor for inspections.
- Ensure First Class customer service is provided for superior customer satisfaction.
- Know industry standards, color codes, cable and testing.
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking, and climbing up and down ladders.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, kneeling, balancing.
- Climbing ladders of various heights and working in cramped corridors.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs. with no assistance.
- Standing for over 95% of the workday and/or sitting for 2 hours at a time.
- Working in indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Exposure to moving machinery, changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes and gases.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Operate motor vehicles independently.
- Operate technologies and equipment as required by the installation plan.

Qualifications And Requirements- Minimum age of 18
- Provide I-9 documents to establish work eligibility
- Evidence of High School Diploma or GED; high school transcript if necessary
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- DD 214 (if veteran)
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, physical, and background check
- Good color acuity (determine wire colors)
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Able to work at least 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as needed
- Lift at least 50 pounds
- Constant movement on your feet
- Climb ladders of all types
