Position: *Travel Data Center Fiber Optic Technician, Level II*

Travel Data Center Fiber Optic Technician, Level II

Join ADB Companies, LLC as a Fiber Optic DC Technician II. This non‑exempt, full‑time position is a nationwide, full‑turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions. You will perform mid‑level splicing on OSP and ISP data center projects across the country.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Performs mid‑level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrices to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled
  • Determines equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and performs splicing functions within a live customer facility
  • Independently and safely performs mid‑sheath cable entry using proper tools
  • Performs mid‑level single and/or ribbon splices with large cable count numbering
  • Reads and processes test results, problem‑solving basic issues identified during troubleshooting
  • Proficient in mid‑level OTDR and power meter testing
  • Installs and/or researches installation procedures for all splice enclosures
  • Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization
  • Communicates effectively with internal training peers and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, etc.), addressing issues and offering solutions
  • Responds timely to critical situations and emergency outages with appropriate urgency
  • Maintains a full understanding of safety risks while working in a safety‑sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions such as sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite
  • When working on site, will be required to wear common protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel‑toed boots

Experience And Education

  • 1–5 years of experience performing fiber optic cable splicing projects required
  • OSHA 10 certification (or ability to acquire within 6 months) required
  • First‑aid and/or CPR certifications preferred
  • Valid driver license with ability to obtain a DOT medical card required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Starting Pay – $26/hr, may vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
