PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of Supply and Distribution Technician is performed for the purpose of supporting inventory control, fixed asset tracking, fuel station operations, and the efficient distribution of supplies and materials across the District. This position assists with receiving, storing, and delivering materials; maintaining the District's warehouse and fueling systems; ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; and maintaining accurate records to support accountability and operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Educational Level:
High School diploma/GED required
2. Certification/License:
Valid Driver's License.;
Ability to obtain and maintain A/B certification.
3. Experience/Equivalency:
Job related experience is preferred.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems, and fuel management preferred.
4. Physical
Activities:
Physical demands include frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills;
Lift, carry, push, and pull items safely (up to 50 lbs.);
Job requires approximately 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing;
Exposed to warehouse and fueling environments; must follow safety protocols. Occasional exposure to hazardous materials in fuel station operations, requiring adherence to EPA, state, and local regulations.
5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
KNOWLEDGE:
Inventory processes, asset management, and fuel systems;
Safety guidelines and compliance procedures for warehouse and fuel operations;
Handling, storage, and transportation of supplies and equipment.
SKILLS:
Operating warehouse and delivery equipment (e.g., box truck, forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks);
Using basic computer software, including inventory, asset tracking, and fuel management systems;
Communicating clearly with district staff and vendors;
Maintaining accurate records and following procedures.
ABILITY:
Operate delivery and warehouse equipment proficiently;
Work independently and as part of a team;
Respond effectively to emergencies and problem-solve quickly;
Follow written and oral instructions accurately.
6. Responsibility:
Works under supervision, following established procedures and guidelines;
Assists in daily operations for Supply, Distribution, and Fuel Management;
Contributes to departmental compliance with state, federal, and district regulations;
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and proper handling of district assets and fuel resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.
2.
Assists in receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming deliveries of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring accurate and compliant receipt of materials.
3.
Delivers inventory and equipment to schools and departments according to schedules for the purpose of timely and efficient distribution of resources while following established safety guidelines in handling and transporting materials.
4.
Enters data into the district's inventory and asset management systems for the purpose of maintaining precise inventory records.
5.
Participates in physical inventory and fixed asset tagging activities for the purpose of supporting accountability, asset tracking, inventory reconciliations, and year-end closing activities.
6.
Maintains organized and secure storage areas for the purpose of promoting safety and accessibility.
7.
Communicates with school personnel and staff to confirm delivery details and resolve minor issues for the purpose of ensuring delivery accuracy and issue resolution
8.
Prepares and stages items for surplus for the purpose of proper disposal and compliance with district procedures.
9.
Operates, services, and conducts inspections and tests on the district's fuel station and related equipment to ensure reliable fuel services and compliance with regulatory requirements.
