Purpose:


The Assistant Site Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Site Coordinator to help organize and facilitate before and after school care at the site level and ensure Indiana After school Standards are met.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee site staff and uphold site professionalism.
  • Attend school Open House and Kindergarten Round up and staff the i-CARE information table.
  • Serve as a liaison between parents and school, including handling written communication to families.
  • Take payments, ensure accounts are current and make deposits as scheduled and/or as needed to comply with state requirements.
  • Ensure daily attendance is accurately submitted into EZChild

    Track, monitor attendance sheets, and submit originals to the i-CARE office while keeping copies on site.
  • Attend trainings and professional development meetings as directed.
  • Monitor assessments and retrieve classroom data to submit program, site, and student reports via EZReports and/or Excel spreadsheet entry as required.
  • Provide leadership for establishing student services.
  • Provide visible support/motivation to elementary building staff and families.
  • Establish a positive school climate and orderly program space for students, staff, and volunteers participating in the program.
  • Help Site Coordinator organize and conclude the school/program year with detailed exit inventory.
  • Evoke confidence and trust from families, building staff, and community members.
  • Monitor bus radio for any transportation needs until all of the site’s students are safely home.
  • Assist and guide students with all subject areas during Homework and Enrichment time.
  • Ensure Indiana After school Standards at the site level are met.
  • Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned activities.
  • Assist in program preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
  • Assist with program behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly site, and ensure students are on task.
  • Assist in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student snack, bus duty, playground duty, and others as needed.
  • Construct, copy, distribute, and use educational materials if needed.
  • Assist students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion and achievement of IEP objectives.
  • Assist students with disabilities with activities to maximize their ability to participate in after school or learning activities.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
  • Must be available to work 6:30-8 am (6:30-10 am on 2-hour delays) and 2-6 pm daily.
  • Additional Duties:
    Assist other sites as needed.
    Perform any other related duties as assigned.

  • Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
    Works in standard office and school building environments.
    Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.

    Terms of Employment:
    Less than 12 months
    4 hours per day working 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    Applicant must also be available to work some or all mornings from 6:30 a.m.

    -8 a.m., depending upon site.

    Starting Hourly Rate Placement: $17.69 per hour
    An additional $1 per hour will be paid through referendum funds.
