Teaching Assistant – Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center – Infant Room
Open position for TA in Infant classroom. Applicant must be available to work between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Position is 29.5 hours per week.
The teaching assistant will work closely with the lead teacher in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving meals, changing diapers, assisting with daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, and creating a safe environment.
Qualifications- High School diploma required
- Prefer applicant to have CDA or Associate’s in Early Childhood
- Must have a clear BCSC criminal background check
- Applicants must be willing to have TB testing, drug screening, digital fingerprinting, and submit a health physical upon employment
- Applicants must agree to attend CPR/First Aid training
- Position may require lifting up to 50 lbs
- Requires standing possibly 90% of hours worked
- Moving between sitting and standing frequently while playing with the children
- Providing support for the lead teacher
- Assisting the lead teacher in planning, scheduling and implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children
- Monitoring and supervising the children
- Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe and positive environment
- Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks
- Adhering to diaper changing procedures
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other career development and professional activities
- Completing continuing education hours per State requirements each year
- Maintaining a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children

5.9 hours per day.
Grade 6 on Classified Staff Salary Matrix.

Starting Hourly Rate Placement: $
Additional $1 per hour will be paid from referendum funds.
