Job Title: Product Design And Development

Location: Columbus, IN

• Engine Design and Development and failure mode analysis of engine systems, subsystems and component experience is must
• Review inputs received from Service, Application, Testing team and create failure mode investigations and diagnostic strategy
• Problem Investigation:
  Analysis of Cylinder Head, Block, Power Cylinder Crack Detection, coolant & oil leakage, white smoke from exhaust
• Work with Testing, Quality, Reliability Teams to study Metallographic Structure
• Contribute to investigating Value Package Introduction (VPI), VPC, PQC program team or field-based issues for power cylinder failures or engine block failures, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution from a design perspective, while documenting results with guidance from more experienced team members
• Apply and support execution of processes such as Critical Design Decisions, System Design and Validation Consideration Checklist, Design Review, and tools such as iDFMEA, FTA, DVA, GD&T, CREO, ANSYS Workbench to enable high quality component and subsystem-level design decision making and design refinement
• Support team members in obtaining input and negotiating with cross-functional and cross-discipline technical experts and SME to communicate the component and subsystem design intent through a thorough Design Review package to the Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), or Value Package Change Request (VPCR) team requiring a holistic assessment of various design concepts
• Support design decision making in concept selection, concept optimization, and design specifications that impact customers targeted to be served by a given Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), or Value Package Change Request (VPCR) initiative
• May include activities in problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity to support team members with greater accountability to the project team; supervised execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge and engaging with the improvement of systems and processes
• Contribute effectively toward team goals, exhibit influence within a work group, and continue to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role
