Comp: $70,000-$100,000

Location: Columbus, IN (Relocating to Shelbyville in 8 months)

• Lead the full mechanical design of systems from concept through release
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Project Management, and Purchasing to support project execution
• Manage engineering projects end-to-end while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and guidelines (UL, ASME, AWS, etc.)
• Perform and support DFMEA and FEA analyses to validate designs and mitigate risk
• Develop complete 3D models from the ground up, creating original designs rather than modifying existing ones
• Apply hands‑on knowledge of steel components, fabrication processes, sheet metal design, and welding methods
• Interface directly with suppliers to support design for manufacturability and procurement needs
• Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support production and purchasing

• 5+ years of experience in 3D CAD design, including sheet metal, systems design, welded assemblies, and structural components
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor preferred; experience with other 3‑D CAD platforms such as Solid Works or AutoCAD will also be considered
• Experience creating, maintaining, and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the design lifecycle
• Demonstrated project management experience, taking designs from initial concept through detailed design, iteration, and cross‑functional communication

This is a direct hire position that pays from $70,000 - $100,000/yr.
