Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Buyer with our power technology client in Columbus, IN. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.

$45.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

8 hours/day, Monday-Friday|Typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible)|Hybrid

• Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.
• Responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization.

• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
• Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy

• Bachelors degree in finance or a related business field required
• 10+ years finance related experience required
• CPSM/CPPM/CPP (Certified Professional Supply Management; Certified Professional Purchasing Management; Certified Purchasing Professional)

• Exercises independent judgment with little to no direction from supervisor

• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills (Required)
• Expert ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data (Required)
• Expert ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)
• Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
• Expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing (Required) o Expert knowledge of supply chain management (Typically required)
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience is more important than the exact number of years

• Someone with a technical or engineering background who has supported product development, worked closely with suppliers, negotiated commercial agreements, managed project risks, and collaborated across multiple teams to bring new products to market.
