Manufacturing Engineer at Toyota Material Handling

Role Overview

We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Manufacturing Engineer who brings decisiveness, strong decision-making, and expertise to the table. In this role, you’ll support paint and powder coat functions, including current process optimization, the introduction of new technology into manufacturing, and continually improving safety, quality, and productivity. What You’ll Be Doing
  • Improve production processes by driving efficiency to best utilize company resources.
  • Identify continuous improvement activities within manufacturing to help associates work safely while increasing the quality of our products.
  • Work closely with stakeholders throughout manufacturing to increase the productivity of operations delivering Toyota’s customers the best value.
  • Support organizational initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations while supporting the community within which we live.
  • Support manufacturing to investigate and eliminate downtime within the paint and powder coat areas.
  • Improve process controls and standardization to deliver best in class results for our customers, both internal and external.
  • Understand lean manufacturing practices within the Toyota Production System to improve material flow and inventory levels, reducing lead‑times and improving safety.
  • Strive to become the technical expert for the paint and powder coat areas and proactively identify and improve issues before problems occur.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials, Chemical)
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field with proven, applicable experience.
What Sets You Apart
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization to advance your goals.
  • Understanding of Toyota Lean Principles and how they are implemented.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferred experience with industrial coating processes.
  • Ability to analyze layouts and design fixtures and tooling using Solid Works, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Catia.
  • Strong technical experience with troubleshooting capability and willingness to work hands‑on.
  • Strong work ethic, intrinsically motivated, ability to organize work and execute concurrent projects.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and process improvement.
  • Ability to convey complex information in an understandable format.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Where And When You’ll Work
  • This is an in‑person role located at our Columbus, Indiana office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands‑on, team‑oriented environment.
What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package Will Look Like

Salary – $75,000 – $105,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation – This role is eligible for relocation assistance based on current location.
