Job DescriptionTeam leader monitors and coordinates team activities. Gives importance to individual members and the overall team’s achievements of established goals. Ensures the team’s goals are aligned and represent the company’s overall directive. Acts as a liaison between team members and the rest of the organization. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience, judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to a Supervisor and could assume supervisory duties in their absence.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Responsible for the JD Edwards system.
- Read standards.
- Run lines as needed.
- Assist with investigating quality issues (5‑Why).
- Check all emergency stop buttons.
- Check the set‑up.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Recognize and comply with all safety rules.
- Work overtime as requested by supervisor or scheduled.
- Maintain all oil and coolant levels.
- Remove chips from clip groove machine.
- Clean out chips from all lathes, empty chip hoppers and scrap.
- Complete recuts and repairs.
- Floors swept and mopped (within reason).
- Machines wiped down (within reason).
- Ensure machines are running at shift change.
- Complete paperwork, including downtime logs.
- Any other duties assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
- Team Lead experience preferred.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with gauging instruments.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Self‑starter.
- Ability to multitask.
- Organizational skills.
- Good problem‑solving skills.
- Capable of learning various software.
- High School Diploma.
- Stamina and endurance:
Ability to work long shifts, often standing for extended periods. - Moving between different areas of the production floor, ensuring smooth operations.
- Manual dexterity:
May need to use hand tools or operate machinery. - Ability to handle delicate or complex components carefully.
- Vision and attention to detail:
Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) for inspecting products, machinery, and work processes. - Detecting defects or inconsistencies in production.
- Physical strength and mobility:
Ability to lift or move heavy items (depending on the industry and products). - Quick and efficient movement to monitor production processes and resolve issues.
- Safety awareness and compliance:
Understanding and adhering to safety protocols, ensuring the team uses personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows safe operating procedures. - Comfort in industrial environments:
Will often work in noisy, high‑energy environments where protective gear is required. - Comfortable working in hot, cold, or hazardous environments, depending on the industry.
- Problem‑solving and critical thinking:
Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly. - Quick decision‑making, particularly in high‑pressure situations.
- Leadership and communication skills:
Strong leadership to motivate, guide, and supervise team members; clear and effective communication. - Conflict resolution skills to manage interpersonal issues.

Ensuring products meet quality standards. - Time management and organization:

Managing high‑pressure situations, tight deadlines, and resource constraints. - Staying calm and focused during fast‑paced or difficult circumstances.
