PositionIndustrial Automation Field Service Technician II – Indiana office
Essential Functions- Perform crucial onsite service, start‑up support (SUC), and commissioning of electrical, automation, and process equipment, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
- Diagnose and resolve control‑level issues using Allen‑Bradley (AB) PLC ladder logic (RSLogix 5000 preferred). Front‑line troubleshooter for Compact Logix and Control Logix processors.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and a variety of control components, including VFDs, motor starters, sensors, and encoders.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HMI and SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition, Panel View) and participate in the full lifecycle of incident resolution, including root‑cause analysis and documentation.
- Develop, implement, and document control solutions for industrial food‑processing systems, adhering to change‑management processes and ensuring accurate “As Designed” and “As Built” documentation.
- Apply knowledge of process instrumentation such as flow meters, temperature, and pressure transmitters.
- Provide remote support for service cases and SUC as part of an on‑call rotation.
- Perform Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) of industrial systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PLC Programmer.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in Allen‑Bradley PLC‑based controls design, development, implementation, and support.
- 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, layouts, and P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Proven ability to read, use, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and components.
- Strong customer focus, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multitask effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be self‑motivated and comfortable working with minimal or remote supervision.
- Requires availability for 50%+ international and domestic travel to customer sites.
- Must be able to perform physical duties associated with a field service role, including climbing, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Knowledge of non‑AB control systems, such as Siemens.
- Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation SCADA systems.
Full‑time, 40+ hours per week. 100% company‑paid Medical, Dental, and Vision. 401(k) with match. Paid Time Off. $150.00 boot allowance per year. The starting PTO accrual is 4.66 hours earned every pay period.

SalaryPay Range (DOE): $37.55 – $50.35
