Travel RN - Pediatric ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring strong PICU skills and familiarity with Vapotherm or cpap/bipap.

Job Details

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a hospital setting,

• Provide care for critically ill children and adolescents requiring intensive monitoring and interventions,

• 12-hour day shifts are scheduled,

• Role involves floating between Pediatrics and Normal Newborn care,

• Utilizes specialized equipment such as Vapotherm, cpap/bipap, and ventilators,

Job Requirements

• Active Indiana or compact state RN license in good standing,

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited college,

• Minimum of 2 years recent PICU nursing experience,

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications,

• Experience caring for pediatric patients using Vapotherm or cpap/bipap required,

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program,

Additional Information

• Responsible for frequent patient assessments and monitoring of vital signs, including continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring,

• Administers and monitors infusion therapy and prescribed medications, intervening in emergencies,

• Assists with insertion and care of CV catheters, arterial lines, external ventricular drains, and other advanced procedures,

• Collaborates closely with the healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans,

• Provides education and emotional support to families and caregivers,

• Documentation must be timely, concise, and compliant with hospital standards,

• 8 hours of non-billable orientation are required at the start of the assignment,
