Forge Maintenance Electrician - 2nd Shift

NTN Bearing Corporation – Columbus, Indiana, USA

Join NTN Bearing Corporation as a Forge Maintenance Electrician on the 2nd shift. You will troubleshoot electrical systems (PLC, VFD, PWM drives, servo motors), interpret schematics and blueprints, resolve mechanical and electrical issues, replace or repair components, and perform regular maintenance checks to ensure smooth and efficient operation of electrical/mechanical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and report hazards that may compromise a safe workplace.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade all electrical systems, including programmable controllers (PLC, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Fanuc).
  • Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions for scheduled and emergency repairs, installations, and inspections.
  • Repair equipment/components without the use of wiring diagrams when required.
  • Plan and perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, wiring specifications, codes, properties of materials, and operation of electronic equipment.
  • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications for scheduled and emergency repair.
  • Install, repair, modify, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical units, controls, components, and wiring.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education and Abilities
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial automation or a degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field.
  • Extensive experience with industrial automation, including six‑axis robotics, preferably Fanuc and/or Motoman.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and various drawings (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
  • Experience with electrical and electronic tools and gauges.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring equipment, including drill press, lathe, mill, electric drills, MIG welding, pipe threading machine, acetylene torch, soldering iron, etc.
  • General manufacturing experience.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, different shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to sit, kneel, squat, or bend for extended periods.
  • Able to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. repeatably if necessary.
  • Can work closely under supervision and with fellow employees.
  • Can read, write, and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Can operate man lifts and set up and climb ladders.
  • Can grasp and manipulate small objects such as screws, rivets, wire terminals, etc.
