Qualifications- Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and a commitment to continuously examine new theories and procedures.
- Acts as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
- Completed Concussion Certification and the National Federation of High School Sports Coaching Accreditations in compliance with IHSAA coaching certification regulations.

To continually improve coaching knowledge and skills through clinics, observations, and consultations.
General OverviewThe success of athletic programs influences the community’s image; public exposure and parent pressure for winning performance must not override the objectives of good sportsmanship and mental health.
Duties And Responsibilities- Implement all athletic policies approved by the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation’s School Board.
- Interpret state, league, and IHSAA regulations and enforce them consistently.
- Maintain proper administrative lines of command and attend required meetings.
- Exercise common sense and good judgment in all situations.
- Develop the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques for staff.
- Design and conduct conferences, clinics, and staff meetings to ensure program awareness.
- Train and support staff, encouraging professional growth and clinic attendance.
- Delegate duties, supervise implementation, and evaluate assistants seasonally.
- Maintain discipline, address grievances, and promote morale and cooperation.
- Assist the head coach with scheduling, transportation, and tournament requirements.
- Prepare for scheduled events and adhere to facility times.
- Coordinate program with maintenance and school employees.
- Ensure equipment sites are properly safeguarded.
- Mentor athletes, promoting trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
- Monitor athletes’ grades and conduct.
- Provide guidance on and safeguard practices, games, and travel.
- Deliver training rules and regulations to every participant.
- Initiate injury, medical, and emergency programs.
- Communicate with athletic trainers about disabling injuries.
- Direct student managers, assistants, and statisticians.
- Determine discipline, enforce due‑process procedures, and interact with parents regarding eligibility.
- Assist athletes in college or advanced educational selection.
- Participate in budgeting with the athletic director; recommend equipment specifications.
- Operate within budget appropriations.
- Account for equipment, retrieve costs for lost or unreturned items.
- Manage issuing, storing, reconditioning, and inventory of equipment.
- Mark and identify all equipment before issuance.
- Monitor equipment rooms, govern access, and authorize requisitions.
- Ensure only authorized areas are accessed by athletes.
- Inspect locker rooms before and after practices and games.
- Secure all doors, lights, windows, and locks before leaving the building.
- Instill respect for equipment and property in athletes.
- Organize parents, coaches, players, and guests for preseason meetings.
- Recruit athletes not engaged in other sports and promote the sport within and outside the school through media, programs, and other avenues.
- Ensure quality and validity of oral or written releases to local media.
- Maintain good public relations with news media, booster clubs, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
- Present schedule, tournament, and result information to media.
Less than 12 months; stipend based on experience.
