Supply Chain Manager Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self‑motivated Supply Chain Manager to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

Seeking a supply chain manager that oversees the flow of goods and services by planning, coordinating, and optimizing all supply chain activities, including sourcing, procurement and compliance activities for a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include developing strategy, negotiating with suppliers, analyzing performance data, and ensuring timely delivery to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities
  • Strategic planning:
    Develop and implement the overall supply chain strategy to meet business goals.
  • Supplier management:
    Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Process improvement:
    Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then develop and implement strategies for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration:
    Work with other departments like operations, finance, and sales to coordinate plans and resolve issues.
  • Team leadership:
    Manage and develop a supply chain team, setting performance expectations and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance guidelines.
Key Skills
  • Hard skills:
    Supply chain analytics, CPSR environment, Govt contracting FAR/DFAR compliance, project management, and proficiency with SAP ERP systems.
  • Soft skills:

    Negotiation, communication, problem‑solving, critical thinking, and relationship‑building.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
    Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of two to three (2‑3) years' experience in management or lead role position in Supply Chain.
Preferred Requirements
  • Supply Chain or project management experience in Aerospace.
  • Excellent skills in MS, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.
  • Material Purchasing and Subcontract experience.
  • Major Subcontract management experience.
  • Government contracting and working within a CPSR structure.
  • Advanced knowledge of FAR/DFAR.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a hangar/manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
  • Follow Boeing regulations for lifting.
  • Work onsite daily in Bridgeport, WV or Columbus, MS.
  • Must be able to travel to various domestic 3rd party and/or Boeing/Aurora sites (up to 10% travel).
