Job Summary

The Business Manager serves as a key member of the Program Management Team. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance with dotted line reporting to the site Program Manager and operates as a member of a highly collaborative, cross‑functional team. The Business Manager oversees the financial execution of the program to ensure both project profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Program Financial Management: manage and report on program performance to ensure contractual obligations, cost, quality, schedule, and profit objectives.
  • Contract financial aspects coordination with:
    • Executive management
    • Program management teams
    • Functional area

      staff
  • Conduct financial analysis, provide recommendations to support contract execution, and prepare month‑end close activities.
  • Lead sales, profit forecasting, budget planning, and financial metrics analysis at the program level.
  • Financial forecasting and development of comprehensive business financial plans for the program.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration and communication: interact with all management levels, establish clear lines of communication, articulate program and customer goals, track progress, coordinate with functional departments to monitor metrics and ensure compliance, and provide risk assessments to leadership.
  • Contract and compliance oversight: support implementation and maintenance of contractual modifications, negotiate contract changes, maintain job numbers and change order setups in JAMIS ERP, act as liaison for customer interface, conduct business review sessions, and support Program Manager for staffing levels.
  • Financial reporting and analysis: lead development of annual operating plans, financial forecasts, variance analysis, and unbilled reporting; prepare financial, cost, and budget reports for month‑end close; ensure travel costs are recoverable, direct materials are priced per FAR and contract guidance, submit contract billings per WAWF, and develop financial briefings for leadership.
  • Program management reviews and compliance: participate in preparation and presentation of internal and external reviews and maintain knowledge of CBAs and SCA provisions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or requested in support of program and company objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and Government service contracts/sub‑contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems (JAMIS Prime ERP preferred).
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities, experience in contract management, HR coordination, computer systems support, purchasing and accounting functions.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
  • Ability to travel as required and obtain and maintain any required security clearance or base access per contract requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Work generally performed in a professional environment with frequent interaction across functional and management levels.
  • Travel to various company sites, customer facilities, and government facilities may be required.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods, use computers and standard office equipment.
  • May occasionally be exposed to aircraft maintenance and hangar environments during site visits or audits.
  • Must be capable of meeting physical and medical requirements to obtain base or facility access if required by the contract.
