Gregory pursues large-scale industrial and mission-critical construction projects across the United States. Our estimating and preconstruction team is responsible for winning that work. That means reading plans, building accurate quantity takeoffs, developing competitive bids, and managing subcontractor scoping and buyout. It also means working closely with operations leadership, so landed projects can stay within scope and budget.

Our estimators work directly alongside project managers and field leadership throughout the bid process.

Accuracy is the job. Productivity rates, equipment costs, crew composition, subcontractor coverage, escalation risk; every line in the estimate needs to be accounted for. An estimate that wins work at a number the field can’t execute is worse than losing the bid, and our team knows that.

Beyond the numbers, we expect our estimating professionals to be organized, communicative, and capable of running multiple pursuits at different stages simultaneously without losing their grip on the details of any of them. Bid cycles in heavy civil don’t wait, and deadline pressure is a constant. If something in a set of plans doesn’t add up, it needs to surface before bid day.

Experience in heavy civil or concrete construction estimating is expected. Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software is required. The ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents without hand-holding is a baseline expectation for these roles.
