The Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. The Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look and supports the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through performance, people, and process focus.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services while enhancing retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and reducing retail shrink.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to provide an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and retail staff for a total‑store guest experience.
• Build professional relations that foster collaborative guest service.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous development.

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures per state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistent quality.
• Use booking systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain operational standards across the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Follow loss prevention practices to protect company assets.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license

• Previous salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, ear piercing (where applicable), and related service categories.
• Proficiency using required equipment and chemicals.
• Proficiency in demonstrating, recommending, and selling professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Stand for long periods.
• Continuous manipulation of objects.
