- Computer literate and proficient in clinical documentation
- Basic internet navigation skills
- Valid certification from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid occupational therapist state license (where applicable)
Summary
Provide occupational therapy (OT) and related services for patients while maintaining positive interaction with facilities and clients, in line with occupational therapy principles and Reliant Rehabilitation guidelines. Provide quality patient care including screening, evaluation, development of treatment and discharge plans, supervision of assistants and rehab techs, and case management. Represent Reliant Rehabilitation’s commitment to quality and service through professional conduct and adherence to all state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Optimize patients’ functionality and skills through occupational therapy
- Consult and supervise COTAs
- Directly supervise COTAs and rehab techs during group and individual treatment, fostering efficient resource use and skill development per State Practice Acts, OBRA, and company policy
- Build a strong occupational therapy program
- Enhance clinical expertise and management skills via interaction with managers, therapists, other staff, self‑study, and continuing education
- Maintain valid state license and stay informed about occupational therapy profession and healthcare environment
- Understand payment models, billing, and treatment guidelines, and deliver care meeting reasonable goals within guidelines
- Adhere to infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively in English (instructions, correspondence, charts, memos, reports)
