Position Title:

PC/Network Specialist. Unit Name:
Systems and Networks. Salary Grade:
6. Hours per week: 40. Months: 12 (Full-Time).

• Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades on computer hardware, software and peripherals.
• Performs installation of network communications equipment, fiber optics, twisted pair, and hardware.
• Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
• Provides hardware and software telephone support to the campus community.
• Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
• Provides technical advice to University departments on software and hardware acquisitions.
• Writes and maintains user documentation, training manuals, and help documents.

Bachelor s degree preferred in computer science, computer information systems, or related field; and one to two years professional related experience and/or training in personal computing and network computing software, hardware and peripheral support; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of database software;
Internet software; order processing systems; payroll systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Installs, configures, and troubleshoots campus personal computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
