Job Summary

Lead the Program Management organization to support rapid growth across multiple defense programs. Work closely with senior leadership, including the VP of Program Management, to integrate manufacturing, facilities, supply chain, and operations into individual program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), applying Lean Six Sigma principles and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Program Management organization and contribute to maturing our program management processes and procedures to support rapid growth.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Program Management and individual Program Managers to drive ramp‑up execution and rapid expansion of production lines for major programs.
  • Integrate manufacturing, facilities, supply chain, and operations into individual program IPTs.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma principles (Green or Black Belt a plus).
  • Pursue continuous improvement in processes and program delivery.
Project Planning and Scheduling
  • Develop a detailed project planning process outlining all phases, tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Create a corporate‑wide resource allocation planning process and execute regular reviews with senior leadership.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.
Team Management
  • Assemble and lead the Program Management organization, ensuring that all team members are clear on their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Formalize and mature program management processes and obtain buy‑in to execute across all programs.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and resolve conflicts.
  • Schedule program management reviews ensuring standardized information.
  • Work collaboratively with all employees throughout the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, support, and training to team members as needed.
Budget and Cost Management
  • Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring costs are kept within agreed limits by monitoring labor, material, overhead, and other costs related to programs.
  • Develop Earned Value Management processes and implement within the program financial processes.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Handle any budget‑related issues, present along with the Program Manager in change mitigation plans to senior leadership and make necessary adjustments.
Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure risks are monitored throughout the project lifecycle and take proactive measures to address them.
  • Ensure contingency plans are in place for critical risks.
  • Communicate status of critical risks and their mitigation plans to senior leadership team.
Change Management
  • Identify and manage any charges to the project scope, schedule, or resources.
  • Ensure that changes are properly documented, communicated, and approved.
  • Mitigate the impact of changes on the project.
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, standards, ITAR, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support CMMC familiarity and compliance.
  • Implement quality control processes and conduct regular reviews.
  • Address quality issues promptly.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supervising the Program Management organization comprised of Program Managers, Project Managers, and our export compliance team.

Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment.

Physical Demands

This position is often sedentary. However, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include sufficient visual acuity to read written documents and computer monitors.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management using the principles and tools for measuring project/program success, preferably in the defense industry.
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar certification required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office including MS Project.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Program Manager in a DOD environment managing large‑scale projects.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize a program team with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 U.S.C.6010.
