Senior Aircraft Technician ()

Airbus Helicopters – Columbus, MS

The Senior Aircraft Technician (Electrical) will perform work on assigned aircraft or parts in the avionics function, including fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft parts, maintenance and repair of helicopters, and support of helicopter‑specific programs. The role also involves assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems, manufacturing, maintenance, or refurbishing of aircraft and functional checks of components.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems during manufacturing.
  • Maintain close working relationships with lead personnel regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, supplies, tools, and special instructions.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances and other specification requirements.
  • Use standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment to complete work assignments.
  • Ensure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements and company specifications.
  • Coordinate with various departments regarding materials, supplies, equipment and job schedules.
  • Complete forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience working on avionics in aircraft, preferably rotorcraft.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams and apply standard shop practices for fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
  • Independent assessment of wiring issues and installation of components.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Familiarity with common aviation tooling.

Physical Requirements
  • Onsite 98%.
  • Vision: ability to see/read screens, documents and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: participate in conversations and hear production floor warnings.
  • Speaking: communicate in meetings and convey information.
  • Equipment operation: use personal computer, phone, copier, fax, and related office equipment; operate production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying and lifting: up to 60 lbs (27 kg).
  • Pushing / pulling small office furniture and tools.
  • Sitting, squatting/kneeling, standing, walking, and traveling as described.
  • Personal protective equipment required as per site rules.
Citizenship
  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under existing ITAR license).
