This role involves reviewing and validating quality processes throughout the manufacturing cycle for aerospace components.
Responsibilities- Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials according to Stark Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, and customer requirements.
- Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to production supervisors and personnel.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, issuing COC’s, returning products for re‑work, and confirming re‑work.
- Document inspection results: complete reports and logs; summarize re‑work and waste; input data into the quality database.
- Issue, review, and validate product non‑conformances.
- Review quality procedures and engineering requirements.
- Recommend adjustments to receiving, assembly, production, and/or shipping processes.
- Train and mentor personnel on building quality into the product.
- Issue nonconformances; review and assist in validating corrective action plans.
- Perform First Article Inspection and documentation.
- Provide technical support and timely support of identified issues.
- Provide oversight for production equipment maintenance and inspection.
- Maintain various tracking spreadsheets (approved vendors, calibrated tools, etc.).
- Conduct or assist with internal and external Quality Management System audits as required.
- Contribute to a team environment that ensures effective communication between Quality Department and Production.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years in an environment with a documented quality management system.
- Two years of production inspection experience or equivalent experience qualifying the individual to conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment, visual inspection techniques, and basic shop math.
- Understanding of engineering documents, drawings, standards, quality requirements, etc.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience in an electro‑optics assembly environment and with ESD‑sensitive parts.
- Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 certified aerospace company.
