Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Overview

A Midwest staple in the manufacturing and construction space is seeking an Accountant to support its day-to-day financial operations. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, smooth month-end close, and strong support across AP, AR, and reconciliations. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will gain exposure to multiple aspects of full cycle accounting while working with modern ERP and financial systems.

Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

Location:

Columbus, NE
• 100% onsite

• Handle core accounting functions, including AP, AR, bank deposits, and reconciliations
• Support the month-end close process, preparing accurate P&L and balance sheet reports
• Software:
  Sage, Del Tek, and MFG/E2
• Process invoices and vendor payments, resolving discrepancies when needed
• Prepare and reconcile credit card statements, inventory accounts, and other GL accounts
• Assist with tax filings, sales/use tax, and provide audit support (internal & external)

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
• 1–3 years of professional accounting experience
• Cost accounting experience is preferred, not required
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $65,000–$75,000. Final compensation will be based on your experience, qualifications, skillset, location, and internal pay equity.
