Position

Summary

Responsible for molding process capability, cost reduction and continuous improvement project implementation within the designated manufacturing unit. Provides specific engineering work related to the field of expertise with broad overlap between engineering disciplines. Supports capacity planning and growth, defines budgeted rates and process documentation, and ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, as well as local, state, federal and BD safety regulations.

Regular, punctual attendance is essential. Ability to read, write and converse in English is required. Willingness to uphold BD Values.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Execute Engineering Studies, EWO's, Validations, and Change control while following GMP (good manufacturing practices).
  • Provide technical expertise on molding process and equipment issues to department.
  • Create technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfer knowledge to operators and technical associates.
  • Coach associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
  • Identify top losses within the manufacturing unit and develop and implement plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
  • Manage manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality events and deviations.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;
    Plastic Engineering preferred.
Experience
  • Two years medical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous technical molding experience (understanding of the molding process & related equipment, operation of molding peripheral automation equipment, fundamental principles of scientific molding, mold design and metrology) preferred.

Workplace

BD prioritizes on‑site collaboration. For most roles, at least 4 days in‑office per week are required. Remote or field‑based positions vary per role.
