Provides mechanical support to assigned department to achieve production and quality goals. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

• Support department production by keeping machines in proper working order.
• Review production machine performance on a continual basis.
• Maintain equipment to reduce downtime by performing required preventive maintenance.
• Order replacement parts as required.
• Identify and implement process improvements using the CIR process.
• Assist with Engineering projects when required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with Engineering projects during plant shut down periods.
• Mentor new Mechanical Technicians.
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
• Standardize and configure assigned equipment according to specifications.
• Eliminate recurring equipment problems.
• Continuously improve equipment-related waste and quality performance.

This position does not supervise any associates at any level.

Minimum Education: HSD/GED

Preferred: Associate's degree – Mechanical or other related technical field

Minimum Experience:

• 3-5 years of related experience
