Associate Director, Human Resources

BD (Tissuemed Ltd) is seeking an Associate Director of Human Resources to lead HR functions across multiple sites in Nebraska, including Columbus – West, Columbus – East, and Holdrege. Reporting to the MDS ISC HR leader, the role will serve as the HR partner to the Plant Manager and as the operational HR Site Leader for approximately 1,200 associates. In addition, the Associate Director will provide HR leadership for two additional medical segment sites and play a key role in designing, developing, and integrating HR processes and initiatives that drive organizational success while ensuring compliance with BD quality systems, policies, and all applicable regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • People Leadership: Lead a team of HR professionals delivering consistent, effective HR service across four locations.
  • Organizational Effectiveness & Development: Partner with client leaders to execute HR processes such as HR planning (succession planning), performance development & management, and compensation.
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment strategy and implementation with the RPO, ensuring staffing meets production demands and building talent pipelines.
  • Compensation: Consult with managers and Total Rewards on pay decisions, merit increases, market pricing, and align rewards with performance and potential.
  • Performance Management: Drive and facilitate the annual performance management process, providing coaching and legal compliance guidance.
  • Process Champion: Lead or support HR process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Special Projects: Lead site‑wide projects, develop proposals, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR management or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in HR management or a related field (preferred).
Experience
  • 10+ years progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a generalist role covering change management, organizational development, policy, recruitment, compensation, employment law, employee relations, performance management, HRIS, and training (required).
  • 4+ years managing HR professionals (required).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and non‑manufacturing clients, including hourly associates through to professional and Ph.D. technical staff (preferred).
  • SPHR or PHR certification (preferred).

Compatible work arrangement requires a minimum of 4 in‑office days per week, with flexibility options for remote or field‑based positions as indicated.
