Summary:
The Associate Director, Human Resources is responsible for providing HR leadership and support to two BD Worldwide Business Units in Nebraska across three sites (Columbus – West, Columbus – East and Holdrege). Reporting to the MDS ISC HR leader, the position will reside at Columbus – West and act as the HR Partner to the Plant Manager and the operational HR Site Leader for approximately 1,200 associates.
The role also provides HR leadership across two additional Medical Segment sites in Nebraska, influencing the design and implementation of HR processes and ensuring compliance with BD quality systems and applicable regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities- People Leadership:
Lead a team of HR professionals accountable for HR service delivery across four locations. - Organizational Effectiveness & Development:
Work with client leaders to execute annual BD Human Resources processes including HR Planning (Succession Planning), Performance Development & Management, and Compensation. - Talent Acquisition:
Oversee talent acquisition strategy with RPO, ensuring staffing requirements and building talent pipelines. - Compensation:
Consult with managers and Total Rewards on pay‑related decisions and align rewards with performance. - Performance Management:
Drive the annual performance management process, coach leaders, and ensure legal compliance. - Process Champion & Special Projects:
Lead or participate in HR process improvements and site‑wide projects, including CI activities. - Other duties as required to support business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree required, HR management or relevant field preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred, HR management or relevant field preferred.
- 10+ years progressive HR experience with at least 5 in a generalist role covering change management, organizational development, policy, recruitment, compensation, employment law, employee relations, performance management, HRIS, or training.
- 4+ years leading HR professionals.
- Experience supporting a diverse client group including manufacturing and non‑manufacturing clients.
- SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
On‑site collaboration is paramount. Most roles require a minimum of 4 days in the office per week. Remote or field‑based arrangements may vary. Employment may be contingent upon proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination; accommodations considered per law.
