Job Summary

Join to apply for the SCF Line Lead Technician B Shift role at BD
. Essential job function is to monitor, operate, and maintain one SCF line beginning with SAM and ending with the exit conveyor out to Casepack. Repair and adjust production equipment to produce parts which conform to quality specifications at specified output rates. Troubleshoot equipment including dismantling and reassembling of parts as needed to maximize equipment OEE. Perform changeovers, line clearance and cleaning activities.

Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness. Responsible for product conformity, operating equipment, and cleaning/sanitizing. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Responsibilities
  • Set‑up machine per established procedures, to manufacture products which conform to quality specifications, at the rated output.
  • Repair, adjust and trouble‑shoot machinery including dismantling, replacement of parts, and reassembling. Work with other technical support if necessary.
  • Assign associates to alternate tasks as needed.
  • Instruct associates on proper job methods and follow‑up to be certain the instructions are understood and followed.
  • Communicate daily with prior and post shift Line Lead Technicians regarding technical and other pertinent issues.
  • Perform and leads preventive maintenance for respective line.
  • Continually monitor operations for product quality and equipment performance, including the final QC lot acceptance rate.
  • Perform all product changeovers, assigned machine lubrications, sanitization and cleaning.
  • Assist other technical staff on machine modifications/testing, equipment validations.
  • Responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of the process.
  • Provide feedback to improve the production process and training organization.
  • Order replacement parts as needed.
  • Require to work during plant shut down periods to perform PMs and assist with Engineering projects.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Deliverables
  • Standardization and configuration of assigned equipment according to specifications.
  • Elimination of reoccurring problems.
  • Continuous improvements to equipment‑related waste and quality performance.
  • Ability to find root cause and implement fixes with little to no supervision.
  • High quality products produced per manufacturing documents.
  • Will be on‑shift leader of assigned line.
Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Education
  • H.S. Diploma Required
  • Associate’s Degree Preferred
Minimum Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience required
  • 2 years previous experience in a technical manufacturing role preferred.
