Job Overview
Mechanical Technician D‑Shift – BD is a global leader in medical technology. The purpose is to advance the world of health™ by turning imagination into transformative solutions. This role supports production equipment for our billions of Med Tech products per year.
Duties and Responsibilities- Set up equipment and conduct changeovers to meet quality and quantity standards.
- Maintain equipment in a good state of repair, ensuring production and quality standards are met.
- Generate accurate maintenance and performance records as required.
- Perform machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Provide coverage for absent operators and assist operators during break times.
- Actively participate in and lead teams on scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Work safely, handling chemicals properly and ensuring workplace safety for all.
- Comply with BD quality systems, policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Support additional duties as required by management and business needs.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s degree in a mechanical-related field preferred.
- Mechanical skills, education, or background required.
- Mechanical proficiency and troubleshooting ability.
- Proficient hand tool and gauge knowledge.
- Independent thinking and teamwork skills.
- Leadership ability and the ability to wear respirators with annual fit testing.
- Knowledge of GMP rules for clean room environments.
Most roles require a minimum of 4 days of on‑site presence per week to maintain culture and operations. Remote or field‑based positions will have different workplace arrangements indicated in the job posting.
