Posiflush Mechanical Technician - D Shift

BD (Tissuemed Ltd) is seeking a Posiflush Mechanical Technician for the D Shift (6:00pm-6:00am) to support production equipment and maintain quality standards.

Job Description Summary

The general function of this job is to set up, changeover, improve and maintain the production equipment condition such that quality and quantity standards are met or exceeded. Responsible for training/developing operators and providing on-the-floor leadership. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations. Regular, punctual attendance is essential.

Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

D Shift Details

The D Shift runs from 6:00pm to 6:00am.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for doing changeovers and setting up the equipment properly.
  • Must keep equipment running in a good state of repair to meet production and quality standards.
  • Is responsible for generating accurate maintenance records and other records as required by management.
  • Responsible for machine cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
  • Must provide coverage for others who are absent.
  • Helps operators run equipment and provide assistance during operators’ break times.
  • Must actively participate and lead teams, including but not limited to: scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Must work safely, handle chemicals properly and ensure the safety of work mates.
  • Expected to comply with other requests made by management.
  • May work in a clean room environment and need to follow all GMP rules.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Education
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred in a mechanical related field.
Experience
  • Mechanical skills/education/background required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mechanical ability - Proficient.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving efficiently and effectively - Proficient.
  • Hand tool and gages knowledge - Proficient.
  • Independent thinking – Proficient.
  • Teamwork – Proficient.
  • Leadership skills – Proficient.
Physical and Other Requirements

PCP Level: 4.
May require respirators to be worn and mandatory passing of annual fit testing.
May require annual HAZWOPER training and may require being a Chemical Emergency Response Team member.
