Job Description
Operator In Training – Columbus, NE
This is a full-time, hourly position.
Position Summary:
An Operator-In-Training monitors and controls process equipment from the DCS and the field. The operator makes adjustments necessary to ensure both the quality and quantity of the products are within specified limits. The operator is responsible for proper documentation and communicates important information to the production supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitors all DCS screens continuously, noting changes or discrepancies in production variables such as temperatures, pressures, flows, tank levels, densities, pH, and other process conditions.
- Manipulates DCS control board and screens by adjusting set-points, outputs, valves, etc., to maintain production conditions within specified limits and parameters.
- Analyzes sample results to verify product quality and adherence to specifications, determining necessary adjustments to correct deviations.
- Responds to alarm warnings on the DCS Alarm Screen and determines corrective actions in the control room or in the field.
- Obtains samples at various production stages to test for acidity, density, moisture, pH, and other quality parameters using appropriate lab equipment.
- Troubleshoots process and machine malfunctions, utilizing mechanical, chemical, and technical expertise to resolve issues.
- Communicates effectively with team members and management to ensure efficient production processes.
- Performs Lock-Out/Tag-Out/Try-Out procedures on valves and equipment such as motors, dryers, and pumps.
- Adheres to all safety and process requirements.
- Provides work direction and training to field personnel as needed.
- Records data and results accurately on charts, checklists, log sheets, and other documentation.
ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
The pay range for this position is $23.51 - $26.06 per hour, with potential overtime pay for qualifying hours. The position is at-will, and the company reserves the right to modify pay and other compensation at any time.
