Pillen Family Farms is a family‑owned business located in Nebraska. We market approximately 2 million pigs annually. As a family‑owned and family‑focused operation, we treat everyone—including our pigs—with respect and care.
Responsibilities- This position is highly involved with all controls that keep our farms safe.
- Daily tasks include pulling wire, terminating, troubleshooting, and more.
- Perform electrical preventative maintenance at farm sites to ensure continued equipment operation without emergency breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and controls on all swine facility systems.
- Run conduit, pull wires, and terminate circuitry for facility remodeling or addition of equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair control systems (Dicam, Airstream, Chore Time) and other electrical components.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair Hawk alarm systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair Bin Trac feed inventory system.
- Repair or replace utility disconnects, transfer switches, and distribution panels.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs to propane heating systems.
- Perform general troubleshooting and repair to electrical generators.
- Help with general electrical work and assist other technicians as needed.
- Basic knowledge of electrical components including breakers, relays, switches, and control devices.
- Ability to safely operate power tools.
- Maintenance and mechanical skills are a plus.
- Willingness and drive to learn technical items related to the electrical field.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work well in urgent situations and find solutions.
- Compliance with all bio‑security, safety, and animal welfare policies.
- Journeyman license desired; an apprentice program is available to achieve that license.
