Senior Cost Accountant

Job Description:

We are searching for an individual who is passionate about US manufacturing and fitness to fill the Senior Cost Accountant role. This position will be responsible for recording manufacturing costs, properly reconciling the general ledger with supporting details, and producing manufacturing financial statements.

The Senior Cost Accountant is a fully onsite role in Columbus, Ohio. Remote work is not available.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze data about our manufacturing operations.

• Ensure internal controls are followed and that cycle counts, receiving, production orders and other miscellaneous activities are accurate.

• Review accuracy of bills of materials including yield percentages, routings and plant performance.

• Determine the cost of manufacturing products, including raw materials, labor and inventory.

• Provide day-to-day and weekly support of spending control, and make recommendations for cost savings.

• Prepare, review and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting required.

• MBA, CMA, and/or CPA preferred.

• 3+ years manufacturing cost accounting.

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and attention to details.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analytical skills, including SQL.

• Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in MRP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics etc. is a plus.

• Manufacturing and plant experience required.
