In this role you will help our customers complete their taxes using Intuit Turbo Tax products, provide expert guidance and tax advice, and shape the direction of our newest product offering, Turbo Tax Live Business. As an experienced business tax associate, you will manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations, working from a virtual, customer‑facing setting with Smartlook video communications.
WhatYou Will Do
- Maintain sensitive customer information securely.
- Use government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver accurate answers to customers in everyday language.
- Provide tax advice, full service business return preparation, product/software inquiries, tax calculations, and filing tax extensions.
- Create high‑quality customer interactions that instill confidence through empathy and deep knowledge of business tax preparation.
- Apply company procedures and policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and return‑preparation issues.
- Document customer interactions and meet company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals.
- Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.
- Strong business tax preparation experience with 3+ years recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120‑S) for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax preparation software.
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 tax returns per year in a tax practice or retail setting (strongly preferred).
- Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, spread across three or more days.
- Bookkeeping experience (books‑to‑tax preparation) strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing business tax returns for service‑industry customers strongly preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain all related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
- Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Working knowledge of Circular 230.
- Proficient with technology and solid computer operations skills.
- Strong customer service skills; ability to interact through video and audio tools professionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking, problem‑solving, research skills, and determination.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must have an internet connection that meets Intuit Security criteria.
