Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an organized Accounts Payable Clerk to support a nonprofit organization in Columbus, Ohio. This contract position with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can manage recurring payment tasks with accuracy, stay focused in a busy setting, and take initiative with minimal supervision. The person in this role will help keep financial records current, process vendor payments, and contribute to the smooth daily flow of accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with a high level of accuracy.
• Prepare check payments and support routine check run activities in accordance with payment schedules.
• Record journal entries and maintain complete, organized financial documentation for accounting records.
• Upload, track, and document payment-related files to ensure information is current and accessible.
• Initiate daily wire transactions and verify that each payment is properly recorded.
• Monitor accounts payable activity to help ensure timely processing and follow-through on outstanding items.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
• Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed to assist the finance team.
