Vaco has partnered with a mission-driven nonprofit organization experiencing growth and seeking additional finance continuity support. As a result, they are seeking an experienced Interim Controller with nonprofit accounting, grant accounting, and Quick Books Online expertise.
Job Title:
Interim Controller (Part-Time Consultant)
Location:
Hybrid (Mesa, AZ)
Pay Rate: $50-$55 per hour
Project Duration: 3-6 months with potential extension
Start Date:
Early November
- Manage daily bookkeeping, check processing, and reimbursement activities.
- Track grant expenditures, gift cards, and project spending associated with major foundation grants.
- Support monthly close activities including bank reconciliations, deferred revenue accounting, and restricted net asset reporting.
- Partner with the external CPA on month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning initiatives.
- Assistant Controller, Controller, Interim CFO, or similar senior accounting leadership experience.
- Demonstrated nonprofit accounting experience.
- Strong grant accounting knowledge, including restricted funds and grant reporting.
- Advanced Quick Books Online (QBO) proficiency.
- Ability to thrive in a flexible consulting environment with changing weekly workload demands.
