Junior Staff Accountant

Hixen Search Group is partnering with a leading landscape provider to identify a staff accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build their career with a company This role will support day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close and AP and AR.

• Perform daily accounting tasks, including data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
• Support AR, including customer billing, applying payments and reconciling accounts
• Assist with AP, including coding invoices and preparing payments
• Complete bank and account reconciliations and record GL entries
• Assist with journal entries, account analysis, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Support month-end close activities, including reviewing accounts and reconciling balances
• Assist with internal audits and compliance with SOX controls
• Ad hoc projects as needed

• 1-3 years previous experience preferred but not required
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits and journal entries
• Knowledge of GAAP of governmental accounting a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
