The Payroll Processing Associate supports payroll operations by processing manual check requests and working within internal payroll systems to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This role requires collaboration with internal and external contacts while maintaining strict confidentiality. Work schedules may include weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying hours based on business needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll transactions, including manual check requests, using internal payroll systems
Utilize Time and Labor systems and other internal web-based applications
Review and analyze payroll-related documentation and statements from management to resolve payroll issues
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee data
Communicate effectively with internal departments and external contacts regarding payroll matters
Perform accurate data entry using keyboard and 10-key calculator skills with minimal errors
Work with both union and non-union wage plans (training provided)
Adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
Demonstrate flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and variable schedules as required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
High energy, dependability, and a positive attitude
Ability to manage urgent tasks in a fast-paced setting
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access (data entry-focused)
Payroll experience preferred but not required
