Demand Planner 1 at Worthington Enterprises

Join our Supply Chain team as a Demand Planner. The Demand Planner will be responsible for demand planning activities within the BPG business unit. The planner will use analytics, market inputs, and sales data to create accurate forecasts at the product family, customer, and SKU level. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, cross‑functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of forecasting methodologies and supporting systems, including Kinaxis Rapid Response.
ResponsibilitiesForecasting & Analytics
- Develops and maintains an accurate forecast for all finished products in Kinaxis Rapid Response, leveraging system workbooks, dashboards, and scenarios.
- Builds, updates, and analyzes forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns; partners with Analytics to deploy model improvements.
- Generates measurement systems and automated accuracy reporting using Rapid Response metrics (e.g., MAPE, Bias, WMAPE) to drive forecast improvement.
- Identifies and deploys methods to increase forecast reliability, including segmentation, exception‑based planning, and statistical model tuning.
- Facilitates the monthly demand consensus process with Territory Managers, Product Directors, Sales, and Finance using Rapid Response views and collaboration tasks.
- Prepares, analyzes, and presents demand planning materials for the S&OP cycle, including scenario comparisons, major variances, and documented assumptions.
- Monitors and reports important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies; communicates drivers and impacts across functions.
- Uses Kinaxis scenario planning to evaluate upside/downside demand, promotional impacts, customer shifts, new product launches, and market risks.
- Supports management with risk assessments and mitigation planning by quantifying impacts using supply‑demand alignment tools.
- Maintains a rolling 18‑month forecast with clear logic and documented assumptions.
- Addresses demand‑related issues in a timely and effective manner using exception messages, root‑cause analysis, and cross‑functional alignment.
- Partners with the Supply Planning team to provide input on inventory strategies, shift structures, and supply‑demand balancing triggers.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives within Rapid Response, including workbook enhancements, data cleanliness, process simplification, and user adoption support.
- Minimum 1+ years in a demand planning/forecasting role
- Experience with Kinaxis Rapid Response strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of forecasting methods and measurements
- Knowledge of techniques and measurements to improve the demand planning process, system, and performance
- Good analytical ability with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields
