Our childcare programs build consistency between home and school. We engage parents, school staff, and children to develop reliable strategies for academic success and behavior management and support. Through our close partnerships with the schools in which we operate, we provide choice-based learning emphasizing social-emotional learning and development, reading, science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), and physical development. Additionally, our trauma-informed environment helps children be successful, involved learners.
Responsibilities- Maintain ODJFS Step Up to Quality standards and training requirements of up to 30 hours of professional development each year, and participate in staff professional development days several times each year.
- Provide trauma-informed care and support social-emotional development, reading, STEAM, and physical development in partnership with families and schools.
- Model what it looks like to be a life-long learner by pursuing and supporting training efforts and professional development interests.
- Deliver high-quality care and education, including serving children from six weeks to 13 years of age at the Safe & Sound Child Care Center, and support families during transitions related to housing and employment.
- Maintain compliance with licensing and training requirements (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Recognition, Communicable Diseases) and obtain all required certifications.
- Most staff have a degree or possess a CDA Credential.
- Experience in early childhood education and a commitment to a trauma-informed environment.
- Wamiliarity with Step Up to Quality standards and ongoing professional development requirements.
- Ability to work in a team and support a culturally diverse, inclusive environment.
