Metric Geo is confidentially partnered with a leading heavy civil contractor looking to add an Estimator to its team in Columbus.
The focus is on candidates with experience estimating heavy highway, bridge, earthwork, and underground utility projects, ideally within the ODOT market and other large public projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals.
- Analyse plans, specifications, and project requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Work alongside Project Managers and Operations to develop competitive bids.
- Identify project risks, cost efficiencies, and value engineering opportunities.
- Estimating experience within heavy civil construction.
- Experience with highway, bridge, earthwork, or utility projects.
- ODOT or DOT estimating experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, quantities, and bid preparation.
This role is high in demand and the contractor will move quickly for the right candidate.
