Job SummaryWBNS-TV, a CBS station in [location] is seeking a dynamic and engaging Meteorologist to join our passionate team. This role involves preparing and delivering accurate weather reports on‑air and online, gathering and analyzing information, and alerting audiences about upcoming weather events. The meteorologist will also be integral to severe weather coverage, creating graphics, field reporting, and engaging with viewers across TV, online, and social media.
Responsibilities- Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts in a multi‑platform environment.
- Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary.
- Produce clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story.
- Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
- Write and report from the field or inside the newsroom.
- Update website and interact with viewers on social media platforms daily.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Make public appearances.
- BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience, or Atmospheric Science.
- 5‑7 years of on‑air meteorology experience.
- Proficiency posting content to various websites and social media; strong computer literacy and familiarity with weather and newsroom computer systems.
- Current driver’s license with ability to operate news‑gathering vehicle.
