Freelance Arabic-Speaking Journalist — Election Coverage

About the role

We’re looking for a freelance journalist to cover election day live for one of our clients, an Arabic-language broadcast and media company. You’ll be on the ground reporting live, sharing real-time updates, and following the story as results and reactions come in.

  Approximately 8 AM to 8 PM on election day
• Rate: $1000 flat rate (exclude transportation)

What you’ll do

• Report live from polling locations and key election sites
• Deliver regular on-air updates throughout the day in Arabic
• Conduct short interviews with voters, community members, and officials
• Track breaking news and follow up on developing stories as results come in
• Coordinate with the production team on timing and segments
• Verify information before reporting and stay accurate and impartial

What we’re looking for

• Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written);
  English is a plus
• Strong understanding of the local culture, community, and political landscape
• Experience reporting live (radio, podcast, TV, or social media)
• Comfortable on camera and/or microphone under pressure
• Able to think quickly, ask good questions, and handle changing situations
• Committed to fair, balanced, and accurate reporting
• Own smartphone or basic live-reporting equipment (preferred)

Nice to have

• Previous election or breaking-news coverage
• Existing press credentials
• Familiarity with live-streaming tools and social platforms
