Role OverviewAssist faculty and residents in the General Practice Residency (GPR) clinic with a full range of chair‑side duties, special‑needs patient care, anesthesia and sedation support, and efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities- Direct chair‑side dental assisting for all residents and faculty, including special‑needs patients and patients under general anesthesia or moderate sedation
- Dispense, receive, process, and purchase instruments, equipment, and supplies used in treatment delivery
- Provide oral hygiene instructions, expose and develop radiographs, and organize the record system
- Ensure efficient operation during faculty and/or clinical sessions
Monday 8:30 am‑4:30 pm;
Tuesday‑Thursday 7:30 am‑4:30 pm
$21.35‑$27.88 hourly, commensurate with experience and education
Required ScreeningsCriminal background check and drug/alcohol screening are required.
Physical RequirementsUse of both hands and dexterity in fingers; ability to manipulate instruments, operate equipment, and work from a dental stool. Must sit and stand for duration of time. Requires color spectrum differentiation, hand‑eye coordination, visual acuity, and communication abilities. Exposure to blood borne pathogens, chemical hazards, vibrating equipment, sharp instruments, and latex.
Education and Experience Qualifications- Required: High School Diploma; minimum 2 years chair‑side experience as a Dental Assistant; current CPR/BLS certification and radiographer license mandatory.
- Desired: Experience with diverse dental instruments and procedures, especially oral surgical procedures; background in an educational or hospital setting; familiarity with electronic health records, Microsoft Office and internet/email.
