Dental Hygienist – Roving School-Based Team

Dental Hygienist with the roving school-based dental team. Travels to different school buildings in the Columbus City and Reynoldsburg school districts. Every other Friday off. School hours (roughly 7:30‑4 or 8‑4:30) with work over summer and school breaks.

Responsibilities
  • Examines patients' teeth and gums to identify any oral health issues.
  • Cleans teeth by removing plaque, tartar, and stains.
  • Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provides advice on diet and lifestyle choices that can impact oral health.
  • Administers local anesthesia and applies cavity‑preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants.
  • Takes and develops dental X‑rays to help diagnose dental problems.
  • Keeps detailed patient records and maintains a clean and sterile work environment.
Education Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Licensure Requirements
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Passed the National Boards, required.
  • Passed the Northeast Regional Boards, required.
Certifications

Certified in CPR, required.

Skills
  • Robust communication skills, required.
  • Demonstrates ability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients.
  • Possesses strong manual dexterity.
Experience

Six months of relevant experience, preferred.
