Assists in providing dental care to pediatric patients by preparing treatment rooms, taking x-rays, assisting dentists, and educating patients and parents.

• Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
• Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
• Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
• Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.

Graduate of an accredited dental assistant training program or the equivalent in applicable experience, required.

Current license to practice dental radiography in State of Ohio, required.

• Ability to monitor nitrous oxide and patient after analgesia is administered.

Two years of experience as a chairside assistant, required.

• Frequently: Bend/twist, flexing/extending of neck, lifting/carrying 11‑20 lbs, loud noises, pushing/pulling 0‑25 lbs, reaching above shoulder, sitting, squatting/kneeling, standing.
• Continuously: Audible speech, blood and/or bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, color vision, communicable diseases and/or pathogens, computer skills, decision making, depth perception, hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, hearing acuity, interpreting data, lifting/carrying 0‑10 lbs, patient equipment, peripheral vision, problem solving, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing – far/near, walking.
