Dental Assistant
Toothio is a technology platform that connects dental professionals with dental offices that need to fill gaps in their schedule. Dental offices gain access to high‑quality dental professionals on‑demand, while dental professionals can pick up work that fits their own schedules.
OverviewWe are looking for registered dental assistants with 1+ years of experience who want to set their own schedule and only work when it works for them. Toothio will send available shifts directly to your phone; you decide which to accept. Once you complete a shift, you are paid immediately.
Job TypesFull‑time, Part‑time, Temporary
Pay$55.00 - $65.00 per hour
Responsibilities- Welcome customers in the dental office
- Prepare customers for treatments or check‑ups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post‑operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well‑stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
- Ensure excellent customer service to make the dentist’s office efficient and pleasant for patients
- Proven experience as a registered dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing (a plus)
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well‑organized and reliable
- High school diploma; graduating from a dental assistant school is preferred
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g., EFDA)
- Proven experience as a dental hygienist or similar role
- Dental hygiene license required
- In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in the profession
- Experience preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- A patient and friendly personality
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Diploma in dental hygiene (preferred)
