Overview
Urban Designer/Landscape Architecture Design Leader role ation:
Cleveland or Columbus, OH. This position focuses on design leadership for complex civic-focused projects within a multidisciplinary practice.
- Provide design leadership within the award-winning urban design, landscape architecture, and planning practice.
- Work on local projects as well as opportunities across other locales, collaborating with internal and external partners.
- Present and clearly articulate design visions and concepts to inform the overall design process for complex multi-layered design problems.
- Foster a culture of design within the established design practice and contribute to a design studio culture.
- Collaborate with planners, landscape architects, architects, interior designers, engineers, and business development professionals.
- Leverage AECOM’s design platform and access to industry-leading designers and technical experts across disciplines.
- Lead project delivery and provide strategic thinking, organization, and communication to ensure successful outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design + 6 years of relevant professional design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Professional landscape architecture license within the US
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in landscape architecture or urban design
- Licensed Landscape Architect in Ohio (within 6 months of hire)
- Ten plus years of relevant professional design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and at least one 3D modeling/rendering platform (Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up)
- Support the development of a design studio culture
- Collaborator & Integrator
- Minimum of 5 years of applicable design leadership experience
- Project leadership experience
- Proficiency in creating hand sketches for workshops and quick idea communication
- Familiarity with business development activities such as marketing, proposals, and client development
- Excellent internal and external communication of design vision
- Excellent written communication, quantitative analysis, graphic design, urban design, presenting, and critical thinking skills
- Evidence of third-party recognition (e.g., ASLA, AIA, design awards, publications)
